Public Speaking and Performance Anxiety

Public Speaking...Yikes!
Stage Fright!

When faced with ‘performing’ in front of an audience…

…your mind is racing, the voice inside your head is screaming: “I can’t remember even one line”, “I’m going to pee”, “I’m going to be sick”, “I’m going to fail and look like a complete idiot in front of the board and the CEO!”. Your body trembles, your breathing is rapid, your voice is shaky and it’s your big moment…

But, Performance Anxiety (or ‘Stage-Fright’, as it’s often referred to) is not just for actors and speakers. It can affect athletes, teachers, office ‘team’ members, dancers, musicians, anyone at all that’s going in front of a live audience with the need to impress.

Whether it’s to take the audience on a journey of wonderment, win the race, or simply tell a room of ten people how the business is doing that quarter. It doesn’t matter, because when you’re up there, alone, hoping above all hope that you don’t screw it up, the feelings of ‘fight, flight or freeze’ kick in and you’re terrified!

Dyslexia?
My mind is a jumble!

It sounds all too familiar, doesn’t it? I know – there are times I feel the exact same way. I trained and worked as an actor for many years and so I truly have lived experience of many of these feelings and emotions, but at least I know how to reframe them now. Hypnotherapy has enabled me to address these and other related issues on a much wider level.

A rush of adrenaline is always good when you’re about to perform, but when it becomes too much it can be debilitating and counter productive. There are ways to get round this and I can teach you how. Take you on a journey where this thing  can be overcome – in fact work to your advantage. I can give you the confidence, strength and focus to get through it, coming out the other side feeling empowered, knowing that you’ve done an amazing job. Whether it was your lines you delivered perfectly, the presentation you gave confidently or the race you won in style.

Together we can ‘take to the stage and
re-write your next scene’…
